Mighty Underdogs

The ball can bounce in any direction on any given night and man the basketballs deflated big time for Cleveland, Houston and the Lakers this season.  All High-seeds ( #1-#2-#3) that took an early exit prior to the Conference Finals.

The Pacers took down the one of the best-engineered teams from the regular season and we might just witness another #1 seed succumb to a recent NBA Champion & division rival Denver Nuggets when Oklahoma City seeks to a Game 7 showdown this Sunday evening.

A few were encouraged by the Jimmy Butler acquisition but he along with Boston and Oklahoma City might also earn their ‘ gone fishhin’ Kenny Smith monikers if their divisional rivals rise to the occasion this weekend. 

We do know Indiana ( #4 Seed ) along with Minnesota ( #6 Seed ) have punched their Conference Finals tickets.  We also know of the other four teams vying for the final two spots only Boston won more than 60 games last season.

The power of the surging climb is where our path takes us into the Conference Finals.  For we know teams that have yet to win 60 games the prior season and reach the Conference Finals are Mighty Underdogs.

An amazing dichotomy takes on the emotional mindset of these young squads that is exuded as they navigate this tumultuous round in the roles of favorites and doggies. Teams that won 60 or less Games playing in Games 31 thru 34 of the Conference Finals are…




The Favorite Role…

NBA Teams are 11-35 $ATS as Favorites of -3’ or less points.


The Underdog Role…

NBA Teams are 48-22 $ATS as Doggies +4 or less points.


Flexibility is the key attribute on this endeavor taking comfort in the banking on the emotional fuel expended is universal.  With three of the four teams or possibly all four teams qualifying we should see plenty of opportunities this round for the ball to bounce our way so with that we say … Have NO Fear – Underdog is Here!
